Public Information Intern

Overview

This internship supports the United Nations Regional Information Centre (UNRIC) in communicating the values, history, and mandate of the United Nations to a local audience. The role involves disseminating information, engaging with partners, and bringing the United Nations closer to the people it serves.

Tasks Summary

• Assisting in writing and translating articles for the UNRIC web site.
• Assisting in updating social media accounts to include drafting and editing content.
• Assisting the Desk Officer with media monitoring and liaising with relevant media.
• Assisting in the daily liaison with civil society, academia, NGOs in the relevant countries.
• Assisting in preparing the organization of events on the work of the UN in relevant countries.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualification Requirements

• Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
• OR be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
• Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in oral and written English is required. Fluency in one or more of the following languages is required: English, Danish, Dutch, French, Finnish, Greek, Italian, Norwegian (Bokmål or Nynorsk), or Portuguese.

Contract Duration: 4 months up to a maximum of 6 months

Work Modality: Hybrid

Remuneration: The internship is UNPAID. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
