INTERN - Communications Support

Overview

This internship provides communications support to the United Nations Information Centre in Canberra, focusing on promoting public understanding of the UN's work in the Pacific region.

Tasks Summary

• Assist with planning and delivery of a 2026 SDG-themed activity.
• Assist with development of interactive tools highlighting UN work in the Pacific.
• Assist with content and design of videos and social media posts, and analyse metrics.
• Assist with production of communication products.
• Conduct research, compile information, coordinate logistics, and assist with public enquiries.
• Assist with preparations for events, visitors, and speaking engagements.
• Compile, analyse, and organise data for office reports.
• Attend meetings and draft summaries.
• Perform other tasks as necessary.

Experience Requirements

No working experience is required.

Qualification Requirements

• Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or
• Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
• Be computer literate in standard software applications including Microsoft Office 365 and Google programs.
• Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs.
