Overview

The AMR Surveillance System Data Officer will manage AMR surveillance data management issues, assist surveillance sites with data entry, analysis, and manipulation, and provide monthly AMR surveillance data to the National AMR surveillance database.

Tasks Summary
  • Discover efficient ways to organize, store and analyze surveillance data.
  • Develop and implement data management plan (DMP) and procedures.
  • Ensure data flows timely and securely based on the SOP.
  • Interchange data from one system to another.
  • Develop data entry platforms with data dictionary.
  • Establish data quality standards and work with surveillance sites to ensure standards.
  • Follow up on surveillance site project implementation and data entry.
  • Oversee data entry process to ensure quality data submission and provide monthly feedback to surveillance sites.
  • Provide technical support for data entry, cleaning, organizing, encoding, and storing data.
  • Store monthly cleaned data to the national surveillance data repository.
  • Coordinate, design and implement data management trainings and lead preparation of training manuals, SOPs and procedures.
  • Prepare datasets and respond to data call requests.
  • Develop data tracking mechanisms from different data sources.
  • Perform advanced statistical analysis.
  • Apply institutional and national data sharing policies.
  • Use statistical software such as SPSS, R, and Stata as required.
Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in the health sector.
  • More than 2 years of experience in data management within health sector.
Qualification Requirements
  • First-level university degree in Biostatistics, Information Systems, or any other related field of study from a recognized institution.
  • Advanced university degrees (MSc and above) in the above fields from a recognized institution.
Other Details

Languages Required: Excellent knowledge of Amharic and English.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of additional language is an advantage.

Contract Duration: 6 months

Work Modality:

Remuneration: monthly remuneration of $3,270.08 paid in local currency equivalent.
