Overview

The Field Manager will provide leadership and management oversight of Save the Children’s programme in the Renk Field Office in South Sudan, ensuring effective management of programs, resources, staff, and support functions.

Tasks Summary
  • Maintain oversight of the humanitarian situation and ensure program strategy, development, and implementation are oriented to need.
  • Contribute to project design, ensuring new proposals are in line with strategy, feasible, and adequately resourced.
  • Ensure effective coordination and communication flow between departments for efficient program delivery.
  • Lead the Field Management Team to ensure smooth day-to-day running of field operations.
  • Oversee the management of all programmes operating in Renk, ensuring delivery according to grant agreement requirements and standards.
  • Ensure effective monitoring and evaluation systems and a system of learning and feedback are in place.
  • Manage the Renk field office guesthouses, sub offices, vehicles, and other assets.
  • Maintain a clear overview of the political, legal, and security context and ensure effective security management.
  • Represent Save the Children to local authorities, donors, and members of the humanitarian community.
Experience Requirements
  • At least two years working in management level position.
  • Essential Skills and experience in project/programme implementation, monitoring, review, and evaluation, including budget holding responsibilities.
  • Substantial people and programme management experience.
  • Substantial experience in office management with a good understanding of logistics, HR, and finance procedures.
  • Solid experience in grant management, including budget holding and donor reporting.
  • Substantial understanding or proven experience of security management issues.
  • Representational, political awareness, and advocacy skills.
  • Experience of working with partners and a participatory approach.
  • Desirable: Previous experience in Renk and UpperNile State.
Qualification Requirements
  • Education to Degree level.
  • MSc/MA/MEng level is an advantage in a relevant subject or equivalent field experience.

Languages Required: • Fluency in written and spoken English.
