This internship supports outreach activities to educate the public about the UN's work, including guided tours, briefings, and multimedia projects. The role involves assisting with research, drafting communications materials, responding to queries, and analyzing visitor experiences.
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience; however, a field of study that is related to the type of internship is required. Good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word and MS PowerPoint, is required. Ability to draft short articles and texts for fact sheets and information materials is desirable. Hands-on experience in photography and/or videography, including basic editing for web and social media is desirable.
Applicants must meet one of the two following requirements: (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent), or (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher)
Languages Required: Fluency in English is required for this internship.
Languages Preferred: Knowledge of another official language of the United Nations is desirable.
Contract Duration: 4 - 6 months (6 months preferable)
Work Modality: full-time and in-person
Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
