Overview

Internship supporting substantive work in life-cycle carbon emissions in housing, including literature review, systematizing case studies, and developing comparative housing scenarios.


Key Responsibilities
  • Review, compile and systematize academic and technical evidence on life-cycle carbon emissions in housing.
  • Provide inputs to support the development of life-cycle carbon emissions assessments.
  • Conduct literature review, systematizing case studies, and developing comparative housing scenarios.
  • Researches, compiles, systematically organizes and analyses information and reference materials.
  • Proofreads documents, translates (Spanish/English/ Portuguese/ French).
  • Edits texts for accuracy, grammar, punctuation and style.
  • Prepares a variety of inputs for reports, publications and presentations.
  • Prepares, adapts and reviews web content and uploads information.
  • Format documents in line with organization standards.
  • Compiles statistical data for reporting on sustainable urban development.
Qualifications
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
  • Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme.
  • Have the skills to develop a research project on the assessment of life-cycle carbon emissions in housing.

Languages Required
• Fluency in spoken and written Spanish is required.
Languages Preferred
• Knowledge of English or Portuguese is an advantage.

Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
