Overview

The Associate for the Resource Mobilization Division will gain insight into the working practices of a global humanitarian organisation and build professional contacts by supporting fundraising and partnership strategies, donor engagement, or operational support within the division.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assists with the day-to-day management and coordination of the Public Sector REM unit.
  • Monitors government contributions to the ICRC and assists in forecasting.
  • Prepares internal reports on funding trends and performance.
  • Assists in the drafting and dissemination of donor communication lines and narratives.
  • Supports the preparation and follow-up of bilateral meetings with government donors.
  • Prepares presentations for meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supports the Private Partnerships and Philanthropy teams in identifying prospects and developing long-term funding partnerships.
  • Ensures high-quality stewardship of major donors and prospects.
  • Conducts prospect research and updates the ICRC's donor relationship management database (4D).
  • Supports the Digital Fundraising team in planning and implementing global campaigns.
  • Assists with content development, performance reporting and donor inquiries.
  • Supports the Individual Donor Engagement team in day-to-day operations.
  • Contributes to the development of fundraising narratives and content.
  • Assists with events organisation.
  • Supports the Head of Fundraising Services in delivering services that enable sustainable resource mobilization.
  • Supports the development and production of fundraising materials.
  • Contributes to donor engagement through visibility and recognition efforts.
  • Conducts due diligence on private-sector donors, reviews funding agreements and helps ensure compliance.
  • Prepares presentations, memoranda, speaking notes and documentation.
  • Supports coordination of unit meetings and contributes to knowledge and content management.
  • Coordinates the pool of associates: assesses unit needs, tracks availability and ensures matching and planning.
  • Supports the preparation and delivery of division-wide events.
  • Provides coordination and administrative support for team and divisional routines.
  • Organises workshops at unit level.
  • Contributes to the maintenance and continuous improvement of onboarding materials in REM.
  • Supports business process management initiatives.
  • Participates in, and when appropriate leads, activities that promote process enhancements.
Required Experience
  • A minimum of 1 year to a maximum of 2 years of previous work experience (including internships) is required.
  • A background in one or more of the following areas is an asset: fundraising, humanitarian or development work, government relations or public policy, marketing or communication, relationship or account management, business analysis or project management, corporate social responsibility.
  • Prior experience with or knowledge of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is an asset.
Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, such as international relations, international law, economics, business administration, political science, humanitarian action, marketing, communication, engineering or equivalent education.

Proficiency in English is required for all roles.
Languages Preferred
A good command of French is desired. Mother tongue level of French is required and working knowledge of Portuguese is a strong asset for the Private Fundraising role.
