Overview

The Finance and Accounting Administrator is responsible for preparing, reconciling, and analysing accounting entries and financial reports for the Brussels delegation, ensuring compliance with rules, procedures, and internal controls.


Key Responsibilities
  • Prepares accounting support documents (invoices, salaries, missions’ costs).
  • Participates in monthly closing activities.
  • Maintains accurate records and ensures proper filing of supporting documentation.
  • Prepares the annual budget.
  • Ensures compliance with legal financial reporting obligations.
  • Monitors and assesses the financial situation (including cash flow).
  • Manages cash resources responsibly.
  • Provides support to other departments.
  • Prepares financial forecasts and financial analytical reports.
  • Responds to questions from internal auditors.
  • Identifies financial anomalies or irregularities and proposes solutions.
  • Adapts institutional guidelines and policies to the local context.
  • Serves as a co-signatory and financial point of contact for authorities and business partners.
  • Approves financial commitments within defined limits.
  • Supervises funds allocated to the delegation and authorizes replenishment requests.
Required Experience
  • 3-5 years confirmed experience in finance.
  • At least 1 year in financial accounting/controlling.
  • ICRC experience is an asset.
Qualifications

• University degree in business administration, finance/accounting.
