Overview

The Financial Analyst ensures the technical aspects of the fundraising relationship with ECHO, focusing on financial, HR, and similar components of proposals, reports, and audits. The role tracks ICRC's obligations to ECHO and ensures complete and coherent submission packages.


Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare non-standard financial and other non-narrative reporting for EC/ECHO contributions, consolidating with narrative inputs into final proposal or report packages for Appel.
  • Maintain and oversee the integrity of systems, tools, and files used for non-standard ICRC reports to EC/ECHO.
  • Maintain an overview of active files, tracking questions and progress.
  • Register soft and hard pledges in 4D.
  • Perform detailed electronic archiving.
  • Liaise externally with EC/ECHO counterparts on fundraising issues, reporting queries, and audit exercises.
  • Serve as a technical and support focal point for REM_ECHO colleagues.
  • Liaise internally with relevant departments and field delegations on ECHO-related issues.
  • Assist the EC/ECHO (Senior) Relationship Manager with annual funding cycles, Framework Partnership Agreement renegotiation, opening new ECHO budget lines, financial forecasts, and coordinating external audits.
Required Experience
  • Typically 6–9 years’ overall professional experience.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar field.
  • Very good overall knowledge of ICRC Operations and its “Planning for Results”.
  • Experience with the ICRC’s financial and analytical accounting, statistics, etc.
  • Significant experience with financial reporting – creation of reports, pivot tables, graphs etc.
  • Background in the preparation of budgets.
  • Experience of working with ECHO contracts a distinct advantage.
  • ICRC field and HQ experience an added value.
Qualifications

• University degree in business administration or equivalent.
