Overview
The World Bank Group is hiring a trade specialist to contribute to analytical and technical assistance engagements on trade in services and to support lending operations on trade policy issues in low- and middle-income countries.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to analytical studies on trade policy, especially on trade in services.
- Contribute to Development Policy Lending Operations, Investment Lending Operations, and Technical Assistance Projects related to trade policy on services.
- Participate in the development of new knowledge products and instruments.
- Support regions by participating in policy dialogue with client countries and in lending projects.
- Participate in knowledge sharing and learning activities and organize dissemination activities.
- Participate in and expand partnerships with other units and organizations.
- Support the Practice Manager and the Global Practice with corporate demands and quality control.
- Oversee and review work of junior team members and consultants.
- Present the team’s work at internal and external knowledge exchange and dissemination events.
Required Experience
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience on trade and competitiveness issues (or PhD degree in relevant field, and at least 2 years of relevant professional experience).
Qualifications
Masters or Advanced Degree in relevant field (economics, trade, international trade law), or PhD degree in relevant field.
