Overview
This internship supports the UNICRI Rome Liaison Office in communication and advocacy activities, including website maintenance and event organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate press releases/articles/news from English into Italian for the website www.onuitalia.it.
- Assist in editing, updating and uploading news onto the website www.onuitalia.it.
- Draft tweets in Italian for OnuItalia's Twitter account and translate tweets posted on UNICRI's Twitter account.
- Draft a daily press release with major news from UN agencies and the international press.
- Conduct research and provide analysis on topics related to the UNICRI mandate.
- Assist in drafting and preparing background documents, reports, issue briefs, talking points, articles, and presentations.
- Assist in the organization and implementation of training activities.
- Monitor regional and global news sources for articles and stories relevant to UNICRI’s activities.
- Assist in data collection and maintaining databases concerning various contacts.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
Qualifications
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
- Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme.
- Good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
