Overview
The internship is in the Chinese Unit of the Web Services Section, responsible for the UN's public internet website. The intern will conduct research, adapt content, and assist with website updates and multimedia tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on thematic issues.
- Adapt content for the web by rewriting or translating content from English to Chinese.
- Assist in updating websites in HTML, SHTML, CSS, WordPress, or Drupal.
- Assist in drafting, formatting, editing, and posting original web content/news stories, including graphics, photos, and videos.
- Assist in editing existing videos or producing short videos from existing ones.
- Use multimedia communications and IT/web-related tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and digital editing tools.
- Analyze data and web metrics, producing reports as needed.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. A field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
Qualifications
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
- OR be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
- Be computer literate in standard software applications.
- Have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Teams.
