Overview
The role aims to contribute to universal access to Sexual and Reproductive Health and contraception, focusing on reducing unintended pregnancy and unmet need for family planning, guided by human rights, gender, and intercultural perspectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance to state counterparts and implementing partners to strengthen the availability and demand for essential sexual, reproductive, and adolescent health information and services.
- Consolidate strategies to scale up and/or expand the use of available contraceptive methods.
- Provide technical support in the design and planning of studies and/or research related to Sexual Reproductive Health and contraception.
- Provide technical support in sustainable financing processes for contraception.
- Provide technical assistance in knowledge management and systematization of good practices.
- Conduct technical reviews of norms, guides, protocols, and manuals related to contraception, family planning, sexual reproductive health, and adolescents.
- Lead planning, follow-up, and monitoring processes of Annual Work Plans (AWPs) with state counterparts and implementing partners.
- Support the development of key activities including evaluations within the UNFPA Supplies Partnership Programme.
- Prepare technical progress and closure reports for SSR projects.
- Provide technical support and coordination with other areas of the country office.
- Provide continuous feedback to the Monitoring and Evaluation System of the UNFPA Country Office in Bolivia.
- Perform other functions as required.
Required Experience
- 15 years of general experience.
- At least 7 years of experience in Public Health.
- At least 4 years of experience in the design and/or implementation of sexual reproductive health programs with a component of adolescent pregnancy prevention and/or reduction of maternal mortality.
- 2 years of work experience in international cooperation agencies.
- Advanced knowledge in eligibility criteria, protocols, and clinical procedures in contraception and family planning.
- Knowledge of national health, contraception, and family planning policy and regulations.
- Knowledge of human rights transformative approaches with an emphasis on gender equality and interculturality.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Sexual Reproductive Health, Contraception and/or specialization in Gynecology-Obstetrics (Indispensable).
- University degree in medicine (Indispensable).
