Overview
The Digital Fundraising Specialist will lead the development, implementation, and optimization of UN Women’s global digital fundraising strategy, managing campaigns and supporting markets to raise revenue and acquire donors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead efforts in raising Regular Resource revenue online via UN Women’s Global Giving Platform and its network of National Committees.
- Run successful International Women’s Day, 16 Days / Orange the World, and year-end giving campaigns.
- Run successful “always-on” / evergreen digital fundraising campaigns.
- Acquire an increasing number of new one-off and monthly donors YOY.
- Ensure that UN Women’s HQs technical stack for online giving is fit-for-purpose and optimized for conversions.
- Lead efforts in raising a significant amount of Other Resource – Emergency (humanitarian earmarked) revenue online.
- Quickly launch and run successful emergency giving campaigns when major humanitarian emergencies occur.
- Lead development of UN Women’s global strategy for expanding its digital fundraising capabilities to National Committees and select Country and Regional Offices.
- Build the digital skills and capabilities of National Committees and Country / Regional Offices.
- Maximize the impact of digital fundraising by optimizing existing tools and platforms.
- Build and leverage UN Women’s tech stack to drive performance improvements.
- Establish structured and agile ways of working for digital fundraising strategy development and execution.
- Ensure that the digital fundraising aspects of each National Committee’s biennial Joint Partner Plan (JPP) with UN Women are strong and compliant.
- Advise National Committees as they are developing their digital fundraising strategy within their JPP individual giving sections.
- Review the digital fundraising components of each National Committee’s new JPP and request clarifications and improvements as necessary.
- Ensure comprehensive and timely reporting on all aspects of UN Women’s digital giving.
- Develop a standard suite of digital fundraising metrics and KPIs for monitoring and reporting.
- Prepare detailed reports for senior management on digital fundraising campaigns.
- Help UN Women’s National Committees to implement UN Women’s standard suite of digital fundraising metrics and provide reporting.
- Work with colleagues in Finance and other divisions to collate information for reporting.
- Perform other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary.
Required Experience
- At least 7 years of professional experience with digital commercial marketing/private sector fundraising, especially digital fundraising.
- Experience in international development, donor aid programmes or another related field is required.
- Experience of working across large NGOs or UN bodies in the area of digital fundraising and engagement, helping them to achieve significant growth in income is required.
- Experience in commercial marketing with a focus on digital marketing for leading brands and clients is an asset.
- Extensive and proven experience of working with suppliers and agencies in the digital sector to deliver results and support income growth an asset.
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and spreadsheet and database packages, and experience in handling of web-based management systems is required.
- Experience in the use of a modern web-based ERP System, preferably Oracle Cloud, is desirable.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent in public relations, marketing, advertising, business administration or a related field is required.
- A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
