Overview

The Senior Programme Management Officer will develop, implement, and evaluate assigned programmes/projects, and provide technical and policy advice on public information and communication issues.


Key Responsibilities
  • Takes the lead to develop, implement and evaluate assigned programmes/projects.
  • Ensures implementation of gender mainstreaming guidelines.
  • Supervises preparation of various written outputs.
  • Provides technical and policy advice on public information and communication issues.
  • Manages outreach activities and devises training and capacity building activities.
  • Serves as an effective spokesperson and establishes collaboration and partnerships.
  • Ensures effective utilization, supervision and development of staff.
  • Directs research and programme evaluation.
  • Directs substantive support to consultative and other meetings.
  • Leads team members’ efforts to collect and analyze data.
Required Experience

A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, administration or related area is required. Experience providing strategic support to senior officials is required. Experience in supervising the preparation of external communication and public information products is required.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in business administration, management, economics, political science, communications or a related field. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
