Overview
Consultant to conduct an intersectional gender diagnosis and develop a strategy for economic empowerment of women and youth for the WFP Resilience Programme in Honduras.
Key Responsibilities
- Design an intersectional gender research protocol.
- Review public policies, regulatory frameworks, and initiatives.
- Apply the Intersectional Gender Rapid Analysis (IGRA).
- Conduct primary information gathering and participatory community consultations.
- Present and discuss preliminary results with the WFP technical team.
- Prepare and submit the final diagnosis report with operational recommendations.
- Design a tool to identify community leadership.
- Identify gaps, challenges, and opportunities for women and youth empowerment.
- Map organizations with a focus on women and youth empowerment.
- Validate the roadmap with local authorities, institutional partners, and WFP technical team.
- Systematize diagnosis findings into a technical note.
- Analyze gender gaps in access to resources, participation, and decision-making.
- Draft recommendations and minimum gender criteria for future projects.
- Validate the technical note with the Resilience team and WFP Gender focal point.
- Obtain approval from Programme Management.
Required Experience
At least 1 year of professional experience in integrating gender and intersectionality in development programs, with at least two years in rural or food security contexts. Proven experience in formulating operational gender recommendations applicable to ongoing programs, including proposing disaggregated indicators for monitoring frameworks. Desirable: experience with projects funded by international cooperation (USAID, Canada, climate financing). Experience in facilitating workshops and consultations with affected communities. Generation of practical and rights-respecting recommendations.
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in Sociology, Anthropology, Political Science, Gender Studies, Rural Development, or related fields. Postgraduate or complementary training in food and nutrition security, agricultural development, or risk management will be valued.
