Overview
The Project Specialist R&D, Innovation and Digitalization will lead the appraisal, refinement, and presentation of complex project proposals, and monitor programme execution to ensure effective project management and develop technical cooperation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-level analysis of economic, social and political factors affecting development programmes.
- Lead strategic assessments of development needs and evaluate the relevance, feasibility and impact of proposed programmes and projects.
- Identify development project possibilities and assess their feasibility and impact.
- Introduce and integrate newly developed modalities, policies and practices into project formulation.
- Provide strategic leadership in the formulation and integration of complex project proposals.
- Oversee and endorse submission of required operational documents for approved projects.
- Provide technical advice, strategic direction, and guide consultants, project personnel, donors, institutions and governments.
- Oversee performance monitoring of technical assistance initiatives and lead the design of corrective or adaptive measures.
Required Experience
- At least seven (7) years of relevant professional experience in innovation, R&D and digitalization including thought leadership focusing on AI, with some exposure at the international level, is required.
- Experience in evaluating the needs, conditions and problems in developing countries, is desirable.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) in economics, computer sciences, data sciences or other relevant disciplines is required.
